The regional interprofession of the forest and wood business • APROVALBOIS is the association for the promotion and the improvement of the wood based activities in Burgundy. From upstream to downstream all the partners in the forestry sector in Burgundy join together to make progress : nurseries, sylviculture, forest industry entrepreneurs, forest developers, craftsmen and companies involved in the first and second levels of wood processing. • APROVALBOIS is a member of the national network of regional interprofessions for forestry and wood products: ‘the Inter Regions Wood Professions’ (IRB).

Practical actions

• To promote the use of wood in Burgundy in all its forms,
to organise communication directed to the public and the professionals :
publication and distribution of informative documents, participation
in the specialised shows, organisation of trade fairs and meetings :
Euroforest, the International Congress of Forestry and Wood.

• To promote internationally the regional enterprises and wood products :
Burgundy club of wood exporters.

• To support the enterprises in their efforts in technical and commercial
innovation : Collective Burgundy stands in the regional or national salons,
working groups with the professionals (heavy wood industry, wood
in construction, high temperature treatment of wood etc.), organisation
of round tables, and technical or information days on the subjects of common
interest to the members of the sector (wood in construction, wood for energy,
exchanges with the PECO etc.).

• To promote training and the forest and wood related professions
to young people, and seek the skills for wood enterprises : a liaison with
the establishments doing teaching and research, publication and tracking
of the selected announcements, stands at the jobs and training forums.

• To represent the regional forest and wood industry at the Regional Burgundy
Council, the State, and the various professional authorities : contract for progress
in the forestry business, study of the resinous resources in Burgundy,
study on the development and transformation of the Douglas Fir in Burgundy,
design in furniture etc.
