Burgundy
is a dense forest region
located within
the heart of the main
European markets

Oak is the King of the Burgundy forest (the leading region in France).
The Douglas Fir, a future resource (Current harvest : 300 000 m3 per year
will rise progressively to one million m3 / year over 12 to 15 years).
There are interesting prospects for the future :
the harvest of 1000 m3 of wood in Burgundy creates one job
in the wood forest / harvesting sector and may induce the creation
of 5 to 10 jobs in the region, if this thousand m3 is transformed in place.
• The leading region for the production of forest plants.
A well mechanised forest industry.
